Need TA stuff?
For maps, mods, and other extras, go to File Universe.
But for units, head over to Unit Universe instead.

Attack the ARM MMM when it's building. It'll activate.

IIRC it works for the Core MMM, too...or at least it used to.

IIRC it works for any on/off-able unit -- I've even heard of solar sparking.
Of course it's most useful for MMMs

This means that all solars, all metal makers and all radars can be sparked. Metal extractors and Moho metal extractors can not be sparked to the great misfortunate of people that love to live on bugs.

what exactly does it do? I mean, if by attacking something so that it has less to build and finishes earlier, that works on EVERYTHING in the mac version

You get to use the metal income of the MMM well before it is actually operational. Of course, if you dont have enough energy to power it, you can't turn it off, so... Serves you right

The whole point of the shut-when-hit behavior for these buildings is so they're tougher and harder to kill while shut. However they forgot to check if they were finished building BEFORE closing and reopening. :lol
But due to game bugs... the MMMs are NOT tougher while closed -- solars and pop-up guns/lasers are pretty much unique in that regard. Even Annihilators and Doomsday Machines are no tougher closed. |

It kind of makes sense if you think "Death Star 2"

Yeah, if you do it, use a really weak weapon, like say a jeffy; or a samson if you have to. You have to be careful not to kill it. Saves build time more than anything else, and is good if you're fusion farming faster than moho making. Cheap, but effective.
